REHEARSAL

Today was rehearsal day for my Bitter End gig on Wednesday.

Excited for my boy - rapper Heightz - to rock the stage again. We're doing one of his songs where I'm singing on the hook, plus his features on "Saturday" and "If Ya Like This."

I also got my hair cut again by Carlos. He did a nice design, and I'm leaving it long on top. Kinda rockin a mohawk type deal.

Stuuuuudio

Just longing to be in the studio again....recording....doesn't matter which studio.....the "studio" is one of my favorite places to be :-)

I had a long rehearsal today for the reading of Faraway Bayou, which is taking place tomorrow.

We rehearsed in Montana Studios, which is an awesome rehearsal space down on 11th Ave.

Then I went swimming...yay....love being in the water

Now gonna try and finish recording this reference track, then eat, then watch TV,

then go to bed.

zzzzzzzzz......

Eat Pray Love

SO today I had GREAT rehearsals:

Rehearsed background vocals with Nick & Jade at their awesome apartment on Riverside Dr.,

and then later that afternoon I had band rehearsal with Jeffrey, Jordan, Evgeny, and Iakov. It went really well, and I can't wait for the show on Tuesday!

Then I met up with my good friend Stephanie Jaggers and we saw Eat Pray Love. It was pretty good, I got some awesome tidbits from it. Definitely recommend going to see it!

Me & U

Sooo........

had a great day starting with music class with cute babies,

then vocal rehearsal with Nick & Jade for my upcoming show.

Meeting with Chris Frasco to discuss a possible tour in late August-September,

meeting with Kim Garey to go over some things for the show (she's playing drums)

then watching music.

I saw Elise Hayes at Bitter End. She's living in Boston and is a freakin sweetheart. She let me borrow her keyboard for my last Boston show, and she's great! Writes good songs, grooves on the keyboard, and has an awesome voice! I was so glad to be there to support her, and picked up a CD.

Then saw my friend from work Eli Bolin with his fiance Allison Posner (together they are "Amazing Jellies") at Dixon Place. Fun show and good people!

Wheeeee! I love music!!!

Hottttttnessss

Went to the casting today for Bravo's "Hitmaker." I think it went well. I played a short cut of "Warning Shot" and met some cool people, but I didn't get a callback. Not too upset, because you never even know what's gonna happen with some of these shows....how they will pan out, if it really is the right opportunity for you. I know that "big breaks" are sort of a myth in a way, because it's really all about the consistent hard work, and doing what you love, and the rest is gravy (hopefully, ha)

My afternoon was MADE though with a hot full band rehearsal. So grateful for the new guys that Iakov brought in, and my background singers + Heightz, who will be rapping. They all are helping to make it a great show. It's gonna be a great set, and I'm so excited for Tuesday!!!

Now I gotta get some sleeeeeep......
BYE!!!
