Ass on the Floor

Loving Diddy Dirty Money's album "Last Train to Paris" especially "Ass on the Floor."

Took a great class yesterday with Neil Schwartz. I went to BDC to take Joanna (hadn't been there in FOREVER) but she was not feeling well so Neil taught.

This is me with him after class, looking a little sweaty lol.

That Thing

Great day today
Full of therapy,
kids,
getting a new haircut,
working with Neil Schwartz (choreographer),
& rehearsing with Nemiss (rapper/singer who I'm collaborating with for the Love Jones showcase) in Bedstuy, BK

We are singing "That Thing" by Lauryn Hill.
Hope it goes well!! I think we'll have a lot of fun.
I'm taking my friend Ryan James as my guest,
and my number is first,
so then we can sit back and relax,
and enjoy the show.
Woop!

Blow me awaaaaay

Great rehearsal today
with Yvonne, Brian, Scott & Nekai
Neil Schwartz choreography

These kids are my life right now...4 of my favorite dancers
and a choreographer that has inspired me alot

Here's a funny picture of the twins with Neil

Hahahha....

Tonight I went to a metal show...
Yes, believe it!
My friend Hugo sings in a metal band,
and it was actually really good!

There was a wind machine on stage,
and one of the guitar players was totally living
with his long hair blowing in the wind

AHHHAAAA

Jonte, Warning Shot, Intervention, etc....

Had a rehearsal today for "Warning Shot" this Saturday at Sirens after Dark. I'm a little nervous about it. I need to get my shit together lol...There's time it will be ok. I got days. :-) Choreography is looking great thanks to Neil Schwartz, Yvonne, Nekai, and Scott & Brian.

Took class with Jonte. It had been awhile. I took 3 t-shirts and soaked through all of them. His class/choreo always does that to me! In fact, I could've used 4! LOL.

Here is Jonte outside of BDC rockin another onesie.

Still reading this great book about networking in the music business,
and was reading some success stories about people in the industry
some of whom achieved the most in their 30's/40's, after working hard for many years in different avenues
The people who stayed in the game, and figured out a way to make it work for them
Because they love it
That inspired me.
Gotta be one of the last men standing,
still striving, and never giving up

Now watching an episode of Intervention, ha.
Is he going to treatment??
I hope so!

Up too late

Up too late, up too late, why am I always up too late?

You're probably tired of hearing it, and seeing my blog postings in the middle of the night.

Had a good rehearsal today with Neil & Scott for "Warning Shot," and I'm definitely looking forward to the performance, though I have lots of work to do!

Always so much to do....but it's good right? Keeping busy here...

Love Conversation

Listening to this lovely song "Love Conversation," by Jose James, a new artist I found on Itunes. Posting it at the end of this blog.

I had a good rehearsal today with Neil, Yvonne & Nekai for the performance of "Warning Shot" at Sirens after Dark on May 8. I think it'll be hot. Got work to do though.

Took Bikram...even though I wasn't feeling the best, I found it to be a great class.

Played piano again for Alison O'Connor's midnight yoga class at Laughing Lotus. It was cool, and I said it before, but she is a great teacher. She was drawing parallels between yoga/life/improv comedy.
She is taking classes at Upright Citizens Brigade. I miss improv comedy and want to do more of it!
Whee!!!

Warning Shot

Rehearsed "Warning Shot" today with the fabulous Neil Schwartz (choreographer)
Worked today with Nekai & Yvonne...amazing! Love them!

Was getting a little discouraged today though.
Often I ask myself why am I doing this?
Why am I rehearsing for this show?
Paying for rehearsal spaces, etc. even though I'm not getting paid?
Money can be discouraging.
I want to make more of it.

That's all.... LOL.
Good Bikram class though.
And Westway Diner with one of my best friends, Todd.

Warning Shot

After doing some music for babies,
I took a walk in the park
with Neil Schwartz
We discussed "Warning Shot."
He is doing the choreography for my performance
at the next "Sirens After Dark" show on May 8th
We are so excited!
It was so beautiful in the park!

I took Anes at Peridance
and saw a dancer
who I haven't seen in a long time
She is 20
So young,
such a great spirit.

I love Anes and his choreography
I love the music that he chooses to dance to
I love art
